A Square Meter of Sensation is a minimalist design created by Hong Kong-based designer Milk Design. Looking back at some past uses of leather, the designers were interested in the use of mechanical flat leather belts in line shafting to transmit power to drive machines or lathes since as early as the Industrial Revolution. The dynamic relationship between the leather belts and the mechanical motors is interesting to us as there is a sense of irony when organic material like leather has “come alive” again through man-made machines.
