For those of you who have multiple garbage cans lying around to sort the plastics from regular waste, Tri3 – designed by Constance Guisset – is the ideal wastebasket for you.

When it comes to good design, usability and understandability are always weighted heavier than aesthetics. Tri3 exemplifies this concept through its simplistic functionality; there is no need for instruction manuals or labels for this design. The left pedal opens up the top can for general waste. The middle pedal rotates the middle can outward for plastics and packaging. The right pedal extends the bottom can for glass.

In addition, the Tri3 comes with its own bag dispenser hidden within the top can. If only more products can adopt this methodology of clean design, simplistic functionality, and extensive usefulness.
