Topuro is a minimalist lamp designed by the Barcelona-based designer Guido Valín of Mirabobo. Produced by the Spanish lighting brand, Parachilna, the lamp is available in a larger version and a smaller iteration, and offers a quiet yet thoughtful presence, designed to set the mood in intimate, domestic spaces. Its skeletal structure, composed of electropolished stainless steel and translucent, ice-effect methacrylate shades, embodies an intentional simplicity that feels both refined and elemental.

At its core, Topuro is a study in the dematerialization of light: how light gradually disperses as it travels through space, losing intensity and softening in presence. Here, Valín uses the concept of series as a formal and metaphorical device. As the lamp’s shades progress outward from the central light source, they visually appear to lose their material weight, blurring the boundaries between object and atmosphere. The result is a visual dialogue where the shades seem to dissolve, capturing light in a transient state.

As a simple yet refined lamp, the shades are held in place without additional hardware, relying solely on the geometric precision of their supporting clips and the solidity of the structure as a whole. This design decision gives the lamp a stripped-back, skeletal quality that aligns with Valín’s broader pursuit of honest, concept-driven design.
