aeru Meguro is a minimalist space located in Meguro, Japan, designed by NOSIGNER. Though the shop size is not very spacious, the space was designed to be flexible for seasonal changes and various occasions. At the center of the shop is a large mobile cabinet, which was inspired by the Japanese traditional tiered doll stand and a hand-held folding fan. The cabinet has eight tiers at different levels and revolves around a pivot like a folding fan. The cabinet changes form according to the occasion, e.g. it can be used to display products, or it can be used as a desk and bench. Thus, it allows one to use the shop space freely and flexibly. With this cabinet at its core, this shop reflects the fascination of Japanese craftsmanship.
