House U is a minimalist residence located in Fukuoka, Japan, designed by MOVEDESIGN. There is a lot of nature around the site. The client is a married couple and they have two children. The father is often away from home because of his job, so it was important that the house had security features. The architects had to balance openness, livability, and security on this project. The designers decided this residence should be a flat house. A series of wooden lattices form a semi-transparent barrier between the interior glazings and the outside.
