House in Field is a minimal home designed by Japan-based architects Ship Architecture. The site is located in an area in which there is a field park on both the east and west sides of the plot across the road, and the area was also characterized by seasonal flowers such as white clover and horsetail, which became one with the field. Therefore, a long east-west volume with a narrow frontage was placed in the center between the neighbors so as not to impair the sense of continuity with the fields on both sides. By shifting the level of the floor, the architects created a variety of spaces within the integrated interior without using walls and fittings. Since each area has a different ceiling height, looking up from the first floor, one can see the sky from the gap between the slabs on the second floor.
