House in Shimogamo is a minimal residence located in Kyoto, Japan, designed by Tomohiro Hata Architect & Associates. Each roof defines a unique space, and their collision creates a continuous ambivalent relationship, leaving a grain of space. The volumes are placed one on top of the other, collectively forming terraces and canopies. The configuration creates split levels that separate the spaces internally without breaking the overall flow of the residence.
