House in Kamiosaki is a minimalist house located in Tokyo, Japan, designed by comma design office. The site is located on the valley in a densely populated residential area of Tokyo. Each building is detached without sharing a wall, therefore many gaps exist in this high-density area. Seeing through each gap provides a unique and varied scenery – distant and close-up views are presented simultaneously. The architects wanted to utilize this multi-resolution overlap of the scenery as an opportunity to create a perception of spaciousness within the interior.
