Kashikoto Monokaya is a minimalist space located in Kanazawa, Japan, designed by Wataru Kumano. An old Japanese confectioner “Shibafune-Koide” existed for almost 100 years, and they decided to start new style of the confectionary eat-in beside their main shop and old factory. In ordinary Japanese sweets shops, one can choose different kind of sweets from several options, but in this shop, the designers focused on only the very basic Japanese sweets call Monaka, a red-bean paste inside of a rice cracker.
