Maison De Gaspé is a minimalist design created by Canada-based designer la SHED architecture.  Located in the heart of Villeray neighborhood, De Gaspé important project involved the renovation of an existing building that lost most of its original features. The old duplex includes a garage as well as a variety of attachments became a family home for two adults and two children.

The front passed through a variety of transformations in time that made restoration impossible. Thus, project designers chose to create a contemporary façade that perfectly integrated with the housing of the surroundings. To do this, a number of measures were taken in order to reconcile the new and the old. First, a dark and painted clay brick was chosen as the material for the facade due to its similarity with the surrounding buildings. A remodeling of the openings allows placing windows vertically again, while the relief work in the brick coronation alluded, in a modern way, with traditional ornaments typical masonry surrounding area.
