SHOWA is a minimalist residence located in Hokkaido, Japan, designed by Atelier Casa. The clients requested a small and cozy cafe space in which they could enjoy their hobby of making coffee and tea. Due to the large glazings in the front facade, the cafe space receives abundant natural lighting, slightly partitioned to provide privacy. The center of the space features double height ceilings, allowing for residents on the upper levels to have visual access to the floors below.
