Slide House is a minimalist residence located in Hyogo, Japan, designed by y+M. On the north of the site there are beautiful mountains, and on the south side there is the Seto Inland Sea. It is hot in summer, and relatively warm in winter. The site is a slope where there is a mountain behind the north, and national forest past the mountain range. The architects wanted to create a space in which the sea and mountain would be interconnected. The end result was a tunnel-like tube that would serve as a mid-layer between the segments.
