Watervilla is a minimalist residence located in Amsterdam, Netherlands, designed by +31ARCHITECTS. Generally, there are two basic principles for making floating constructions. The first is the pontoon principle; a solid platform is made that is lighter than the water. The second principle is based on the ship; it is a hollow concrete box which is open on the top; the air which is in the open box provides the the structure with the ability to flow.
