City Remnants is a collective installation exhibited in Antwerp, Belgium, presented by BRUT. Consisting of Ben Storms, Bram Vanderbeke, Charlotte Jonckheer, Linde Freya Tangelder, and Nel Verbeke, BRUT’s third production, as a shared and jointly constructed setting, should be viewed as a continuation of their design approaches’ convergence as well as a new positioning. While this third edition is essentially a design statement in and of itself, it also represents the expansion of the potential and viewpoints of a group. With the modern city as its inspiration, the installation evolved into both an homage to its archetypal forms and purposes as well as an examination of the connections between the public and private, the collective and the individual.
