Casted Objects is a minimalist series of aluminum casted pieces created by Ghent-based designer Bram Vanderbeke. Vanderbeke’s objects are monumental designs that emphasize materiality and aesthetic. These works are considered intermediate, not because they are unfinished, but to highlight their intrinsic potential to vary and adapt to different circumstances. Vanderbeke’s designs create an interaction between space and object, blending architecture with functionality. This new collection of alu cast pieces showcases a unique approach to production. These pieces are crafted using molds sculpted from large foam blocks, a process that leaves visible marks on the surface, highlighting the intensive physical effort involved. The objects are given a rough polish, creating a finish that both reflects and absorbs light, adding a distinctive visual texture.
