Chabanel is a minimalist collection consisting of a chair and coffee table designed by Canada-based studio Atelier Barda. Foraine is a furniture design studio founded by the Montreal-based architecture firm Atelier Barda. Its multidisciplinary practice is guided by a commitment to fulfilling and even exceeding the design brief by pushing creative boundaries in an open and sensitive manner. The designers combine traditional and contemporary vocabularies, freely exploring uses and materials to create clean-lined, timeless pieces. Whether they are designing a custom collection or adapting an existing line to a new space, Foraine adopts an integrated approach, working closely with artisans at every stage. The Chabanel II Collection is the latest creation of the studio. The prototypes were produced in small series for a specific project in the fashion industry. The brutalism-inspired design plays on the imperfection of the material and the minimalist lines. The cylindrical and robust legs contrast with the thin volume of the seat, backrest or table top molded in ultra-high performance concrete.
