Heavy and Light Table is a minimalist table created by Tokyo-based designer Masatoshi Hirai. The table is produced in white solid ash with a stained and clear urethane overcoat by woodworkers New Valley. The table is characterized by two conjoined pieces, one roughly half the size of the larger piece. When the two pieces are conjoined, they form an oval-shaped table. Disconnecting the two pieces can serve both an aesthetic or functional purpose.
