KW01 Perceptions Collection is a minimalist furniture collection and brainchild of Known Work’s collaborative efforts and team: Partners, Jeremy Levitt and Danu Kennedy, as well as their Creative Director, Alex Dilena. This inaugural series is the brainchild of the collaborative efforts of Danu Kennedy, partner and design lead, alongside founder Jeremy Levitt. Their collective experience in interior design, spanning over two decades, has been channeled into creating a collection that reimagines the concept of gathering within the domestic space. The collection, which includes nine distinct pieces, showcases a deliberate play between contrast and cohesion, achieved through a careful selection of materials, forms, and functions. It marries elegant shapes with plush materials, achieving balance in scale and meticulous attention to the utility and aesthetic appeal of each item. Kennedy articulates that the design philosophy behind these pieces centers on kinetic energy and the facilitation of interaction and engagement, rather than passive relaxation.
This approach is intended to energize and stimulate the user, reinforcing the collection’s aim to enhance the joy of communal experiences at home. Each piece within the Perceptions Collection contributes to a broader narrative of aesthetic and functional harmony, yet stands out with its own distinct character. Among the highlights are the Catchall, a substantial object crafted from hand-poured molten glass, and the Perceptions Table Lamps, which create ambiance through layers of hand-blown glass. The development of the Perceptions Collection is rooted in a continuous exploration of creativity and craftsmanship. This ethos is consistent with the design studio’s broader portfolio, characterized by bespoke, innovative solutions tailored to enhance their environments. The collection, therefore, not only represents a physical embodiment of Parts and Labor Design’s aesthetic principles but also serves as a testament to their commitment to craftsmanship and design excellence.
