MM8 Table is a minimalist table created by Milan-based designer Guglielmo Poletti. The ‘MM8’ table investigates the limits of the matter in relation to its structural properties, exploiting the physical qualities of aluminum. The construction provides an overall tension to the structure, allowing the top to reach the minimum thickness of 8 mm. The weights contained in the two cylinders increase the rigidity of the surface, counterbalancing the forces in order to ensure high stability. The resulting composition confers a strong monolithic presence to the piece, highlighted by the maximal contrast between the massive volumes of the base and the extreme thinness of the rounded top.
