Neil is a multifunctional chair created by Germany-based designer Anne-Sophie Oberkrome in collaboration with Lisa Ertel. Neil is an advanced furniture which bridges work and leisure.By scaling the armrest and the seat, a common chair is transformed into a multilayered seating furniture, that combines qualities of both a chair and a table. Therefore it fits the needs we evolved these days through the daily use of our devices. The prominent armrest offers the users a place for their laptop, a magazine, a cup of coffee or can simply be used as a rest. The extension of the seat also creates a new space beneath the armrest which offers an additional storage place. When turned, Neil alters its appearance through the interplay of bold surfaces and slim edges and thereby inviting its user to discover different ways of interacting.
