Segmento is a minimal collection of furniture designed by Milan-based studio CARA \ DAVIDE, presented at Galerie Philia. The process of creating furniture involves perceiving ordinary objects, such as thick logs, in an abstracted form by breaking them down and reassembling the material. The resulting pieces are fractured and angular, with compact and curving lines that are never symmetrical but appear different from every perspective. The initial form of the material is just as important as the final product, so the finish is either lightly stained or left transparent to preserve the essence of the original material. This allows the essence of the logs to remain visible. The collection consists of a stool, bench and chair.
