Structural Skin is a minimalist design created by Madrid-based designer Oficina Jorge Penadés. Structural Skin is a self-produced piece made out of leftovers from the leather industry. The four faces of each leather slat have been shaved in order to emphasize the potential of the material’s language and its visual qualities. After extensive material investigations, Jorge Penadés devised a new production method that transforms the apparently worthless waste from leather factories, into an innovative material that is made 100% from an animal source.
