Tripod Stool is a minimalist stool designed by Canada-based designer Thom Fougere Studio. The Tripod Stool is an exercise in reduction and ergonomics. Like any surface meant for seating, the necessity of comfort is of the highest importance. A stool that can satisfy bar height and counter height seating levels tries to achieve comfort from a mid, to full standing height. The seat and foot step help achieve this gesture in a state of relaxation. The stripped down form lends itself to a purely functional interaction, the structure of the stool itself has been reduced to only it’s necessary components – seat, foot stand, and three legs for stability. However, the form created with the tripod legs and the rounded connection where the foot step meets the legs sculptural form. Designed for EQ3 Assembly.
