UU Chair is a minimalist chair created by Denmark-based designer Mette Schelde for Adorno. Limited edition of 10 made for the Crossover Exhibition with Adorno Gallery during London Design Fair 2019. The UU chair is characterized by its simplicity in the transition between the curved lines and the straight lines; a discipline which the letter u master. The seat and the back pieces embrace the body while seated and the straight frame makes it stable. All parts are assembled in one construction made in solid ash wood. The surface is coated with a linseed oil made from natural oil and crushed red pigments. It is a natural processes using raw, natural materials and the designer Mette Schelde applies the red oil by hand to each chair. By adding additional layers she builds up a very strong surface where the ash wooden structure stands with its mat satin surface in a deep red.
