Workshop Collection is a minimal furniture collection created by Germany-based designer Haus Otto for Werkstatthaus. This collection has been crafted to prioritize not just flexibility, but also sustainability, with the goal of mirroring the eclectic character intrinsic to the venue. The collection features five components in total, encompassing a variety of dimensions. These include three modular cuboids and a pair of panels. By capitalizing on a sequence of compact wooden modules aligned with a grid of apertures, this design facilitates the assembly, disassembly, and reconfiguration of multiple objects. This adaptability makes the collection versatile, capable of fitting into an array of contexts and serving multiple functions. The manufacturing process of these modules is strikingly straightforward, enabling on-site production and maintenance in Werkstatthaus’ workshops. This in-house approach underscores the commitment to sustainability, reduces waste, and contributes to educational opportunities. It illustrates an inspiring model of environmental responsibility, while also fostering an immersive, hands-on learning environment.
