3402 is a minimal home located in Osaka, Japan, designed by ninkipen!. The project is a renovation of a high-rise condominium. Located on Nakanoshima, where many cultural facilities of Osaka are gathered, the west face overlooks Osaka Bay. By clearing out the uneven plan peculiar to the condominium, the designers created calmness and mobility. The beam type that is irregularly exposed on the ceiling is arranged as a folded ceiling aligned with the corridor. The presence of the aluminum sash becomes thicker in proportion to the wind pressure, softened by the wooden frame door installed inside. For the wood parts such as furniture and fittings, the practice chose oak and black cherry with the corners were rounded to give them softness.
