Ananda is a minimalist house located in Valle de Bravo, Mexico, designed by PPAA. The terrace serves as the project’s central axis, functioning as both a divider and a connector of different spaces. Ananda comprises two interconnected volumes that emphasize spatial duality and flexibility. The terrace acts as a transitional space between the interior and exterior, allowing the house to revolve around it and fostering continuous interaction with the environment. It can be a secluded area for reflection or an open space that integrates seamlessly with nature. The home’s distinctive gabled roof not only enhances the architectural design but also adapts to the local climate and landscape. An existing tree on the property was incorporated into the house’s design, reflecting a deep respect for nature and creating a harmonious dialogue with the surroundings. Each room in the house features large windows, allowing natural light to flood the interiors and providing picturesque views of the garden.
