AP L. is a minimalist apartment located in São Paulo, Brazil, designed by ARCHITECTS OFFICE. The initial step involved reimagining the layout to foster openness and fluidity. Walls were removed, and the floor leveled to seamlessly unite the kitchen, living room, dining area, and balcony. This open space concept allows for a 360-degree flow, enhancing the sense of spaciousness and offering versatility through features like a retractable kitchen divider. By aligning the social areas with the balcony, the apartment not only expands visually but also invites nature inside. The park’s treetops, with their lush vegetation, natural lighting, and abundant ventilation, become integral parts of the living experience. The use of neutral tones, refined shapes, and subtle textures creates a minimalist ambiance that promotes comfort and a tactile connection.

The interior design is a careful curation of modern and contemporary furniture, including pieces by international designers like Jonas Wagell and Gervasoni, as well as Brazilian talents such as Estudio Rain and Estudio Orth. This blend of organic and rectilinear forms, complemented by design objects and thoughtful lighting, creates a harmonious environment that engages the senses. To emphasize the apartment’s curved corners, soft curtains gracefully follow their contours, adding a poetic touch to the space. The existing art collection was preserved and thoughtfully integrated with new additions from the firm’s own curatorship, featuring works by acclaimed artists such as Burle Marx, Alfredo Volpi, Claudio Tozi, and Servulo Esmeraldo.

In the private quarters, the couple’s suite was reconfigured for enhanced privacy, with the bed’s orientation reversed. The closet seamlessly connects to the bedroom, offering convenience and functionality. The children’s rooms were tailored to accommodate rest, study, and play, reflecting their unique personalities and needs. Throughout the apartment, ARCHITECTS OFFICE prioritized qualities like proportion, harmony, and human scale. Beyond aesthetics, their design choices aim to elevate the sense of well-being, showcasing a meticulous simplicity that defines a new standard of luxury in contemporary living.
