Apartment Block is a minimalist apartment located in London, United Kingdom, designed by Coffey Architects. The two-story residence is situated within a building that was originally constructed in 1892 as a school. The architects wanted to reference certain parts of the building’s history by revealing some of the structure’s original details. The double-height main living area is adjacent a mezzanine that was extended to overhang the kitchen. A series of wooden oak blocks were used as surface materials for the floors, staircase, and kitchens.
