BUN is a minimal renovation located in Knokke, Belgium, designed by Nils Van der Celen. The project is a total renovation of a sixties apartment in Knokke. A country house on the Belgian coast was designed to suit the customer, in which tranquility & flexibility for a large family are central. The architects optimized the floor plan by breaking open the existing, separate spaces in the living zone for more connection between dining and living space. These were minimally furnished with a continuous sofa in order to be able to use the space as flexibly as possible. The bedrooms were divided into a master suite and 2 guest rooms with an additional separate shower room. A very light, natural and serene material package was chosen that fits in with the natural environment on the coast. The unique lime-clay floor with sea shells was custom-made, as was the soft beige wall covering in the bathrooms. The oak wood veneer provides a warm accent in the interior. The practice also extended the total concept in the choice of furniture and opted for timeless classics from Cassina, among others.
