Canvas House is a minimal home renovation located in Valencia, Spain, designed by Estudio En·Hebra. The apartment’s architecture and materials dialogue reflects the character and personality of the client. Sober, clean, advanced in soul and classic in form. Located in the expansion area of the city of Valencia, the designers started from the challenge of introducing natural light inside. The strategy was to leave only the plans necessary to delimit each area of the house. Textured walls with cementitious surfaces face timeless stained glass windows with simple shaped moldings that let the light through, marking traces of shadow on the pavement. The warm walnut wood is combined with natural stones that contrast and give temperance to the horizontal lines. The interior woodwork was custom designed to give the character the space required. The lighting is very punctual and focused on each area, so that the feeling is tremendously warm and comfortable. The chromatic range is a reflection of those colors that refer to a calm and sophisticated space at the same time. The collaboration of the En Hebra team with artists from different branches of design has been essential to enhance the scenography and respond to the admiration of the client’s art and history.
