Casa Norte is a minimalist home located in Barcelona, Spain, designed by CORREA. Casa Norte presents a thoughtful response to the challenges posed by a long corridor and fragmented layout. These elements previously limited the flow of natural light and created a constrained sense of space. To address this, the redesign connects the living room, dining area, and kitchen, resulting in an open layout that maximizes natural light from the terrace. This allows for a brighter, more spacious interior, with light permeating from both facades, creating a fluid visual connection between the rooms. A notable aspect of the project is its respect for the building’s original 1930 architecture.

Key structural features, such as the Catalan vaulted ceiling and partially revealed brick walls, have been carefully restored. The design unifies both original and new elements through a consistent color palette, creating a harmonious interplay of textures that bridges the apartment’s historical past with a contemporary vision. The simplicity of the design is key, focusing on functional elements and clean lines. Custom-built furniture and integrated wall coverings ensure a seamless aesthetic, reinforcing a commitment to minimalism and clarity throughout the space.
