Franklin Road House is a minimal residence located in Ponsonby, Auckland, designed by Katie Lockhart in collaboration with Jack McKinney Architects. The designers agreed to maintain and preserve the original aesthetic of the original villa located in the front, while creating a completely new context within the expanded spaces in the back facing the garden. Terracotta floors are complemented by polished plaster, giving the space its natural luster. Furniture in the living space was imported from Japan by iconic Osaka-based workshop Truck Furniture.
