Friant is a minimal residential building located in Ghent, Belgium, designed by AJDVIV in collaboration with jo taillieu architecten. The house had a seemingly regular structure, nothing less was true. Though the regular structure was even more given place. The new facade took a triangular setback. The in between space good enough to give distance to the street. Multiplied the oblique setback of the facade. A wooden floor made an extra level. A pitched good came on top. The chimney and corniches mirrored themselves away. Blue painted clockwork on the white facades. Protected behind that original structure of the facade.
