Geemo Design Office is a minimal space located in Chongqing, China, designed by Geemo Design. Geemo’s new design approach has discarded opulent flourishes for the purity of basic structures characterized by distinct lines. The aim is to distill the essence of space to its core, focusing on meeting human needs rather than just accommodating the physical parameters of a given area. This consideration forms the foundation of their design ethos. The workspace layout introduces a novel dichotomy of “haves” and “have nots,” establishing spaces via clever permutations. This open design blueprint harmoniously blends dynamic and static spaces, considering creative ways to impose spatial boundaries like barriers and partitions within the “have” segments. It’s a design choice that encourages introspection amongst Geemo’s employees.
One’s interaction with the office space can subtly impact the way of life, oscillating between refinement and mundanity. This interplay is not solely influenced by the space itself but also stems from the individual’s perception and engagement with it. A hub of interconnected smaller spaces forms the heart of the office, promoting a sense of openness. This transparency aids in fostering communication and collaboration among coworkers, thereby permeating the daily work environment. An all-encompassing veranda enhances and extends the interior realm, allowing the external scenery and natural light to penetrate every corner. Its direct and welcoming design language rekindles the pure essence of labor, lending a new perspective to the work experience.
