Haut is a minimalist restaurant located in Ostend, Belgium, designed by TJIP Interior Architects. Towering above the coastline, it boasts panoramic views of the North Sea — which served as the main point of inspiration for the interiors — while offering a sumptuous menu of Franco-Belgian cuisine.

Haut’s experience begins at the ground floor, where guests ascend twenty-eight stories to a black box entrance that builds anticipation for a dramatic reveal—sweeping coastal views that place the sea at the heart of the design.

Natural stone, warm woods, and sandy hues evoke the seaside landscape throughout the space, while intentionally bare walls direct focus towards the shore. Light also plays a key role here — from subtle atmospherics during lunch hours to soft, intimate illumination from delicate pendants, sconces, and candlelight in the evening. The use of natural stone continues onto the outdoor terrace, where pared-back furnishings allow guests to lounge and further take in the panoramic views.
