Hotakaariake’s House is a minimal residence located in Nagano, Japan, designed by Highland Design. The front facade is mostly windowless, contrasted by floor to ceiling glazings and glass sliding doors in the rear of the home facing the surrounding environment. The architects wanted the interior to receive abundant light and airflow, thus the inclusion of glass sliding doors that seamlessly transition the inside with the outdoors. The entryway is met with concrete floors, while the living areas utilize light wooden floorboards, creating a warmer atmosphere.
