IWAI Omotesando is a minimalist space located in Tokyo, Japan, designed by Puddle. “IWAI” means ”celebration” in Japanese and this venue gets its name from client’s belief of the intrinsic celebration – gathering together, spending quality time – and is meant for them to represent the excellence of the celebrating act itself. The founder of the space was interested in the design firm’s previous works, and wanted to collaborate together from concept to execution. The philosophy of the project was to define the space in such a way that visitors would understand the concept immediately. The aim in this project was not design a perfect stage to show off, but to reconstruct the attitude of celebrating.
