Kawatani House is a minimal residence located in Saitama, Japan, designed by Takahashi Ippei Office. The home has a plain frontage facade with large sliding glazed doors that open up the interior to the outside. The space within is wrapped with large wooden panels that is consistently expressed through the built-ins and staircase. In addition, large panels serve as moving partitions to separate out the spaces when needed. Skylights allow abundant light to flow through the space.
