LK Residence is a minimal home located in Copenhagen, Denmark, designed by Danielle Siggerud. This early nineteenth century house is located in the heart of Frederiksberg, directly facing Frederiksberg Garden, a romantic landscape park, designed in English style in 1699 by King Frederik IV. Inspired by the surroundings, the facade of this building is rebuilt and opened up towards the garden. Inside, all is entirely transformed and reconverted from separate flats and spaces into one family house. The interior is based on a couple of strong axes which create interesting perspectives.

The aspiration were to embrace and incorporate this view as a part of the kitchen and dining area, making the transition between indoor and outdoor space as transparent as possible. The combination of hand-selected materials form a natural balance between robust determination and refined elegance in order to create an environment in which you can find peace and serenity. With a strong focus on merging design, architecture and craftmanship, the designers wanted to create a bespoke kitchen combining modern comfort with traditional craftmanship and sophisticated aesthetics, celebrating Danish heritage materials such as fumed oak and cane, combining it with marble, and joinery details in bronzed brass – a blend of various tactile surfaces.
