New York Gallery is Pierre Yovanovitch‘s newest gallery space located in New York, New York. The gallery, situated on the penthouse level of 555 W 25th Street, a prewar building surrounded by Chelsea’s vibrant art scene, boasts a rooftop terrace and an open floor plan. It serves as the first brick-and-mortar location for visitors to immerse themselves in the world of Pierre Yovanovitch Mobilier. The space showcases Yovanovitch’s unwavering dedication to quality and craftsmanship, featuring a wide array of his furniture and lighting pieces, complemented by a curated selection of contemporary artworks chosen by the designer.
Spanning 8,000 square feet, the New York space features over 80 pieces of Yovanovitch’s furniture and lighting creations, both new and existing, all crafted by specialty artisans from Europe. The hallmark of his work is a focus on longevity and exceptional quality. Yovanovitch collaborates closely with craftsmen to source superior materials, with a commitment to local certification and sustainability wherever feasible. His designs are intended to endure not only in terms of durability but also in their timeless aesthetic appeal. Pierre Yovanovitch Mobilier pays homage to Yovanovitch’s Provencal heritage, drawing inspiration from the region’s natural light, diverse natural materials, and color palettes found in nature. Additionally, it reflects the region’s longstanding dedication to craftsmanship.
Notable pieces to showcased in the gallery include the iconic Bear Chair, the new Callis Table Lamp, the Roze Dining Table, the Arthur Sofa, and the Artemis Rug, among others. The New York gallery is open to the public from Monday to Saturday, offering a series of meticulously designed vignettes by Yovanovitch that position the works within the context of a home. In a nod to his interior design practice, the furniture pieces will be artfully juxtaposed with contemporary artworks, featuring works by artists such as Camille Henrot, Wolfgang Tillmans, and Alicjia Kwade, among others. The gallery’s ambiance is further enhanced with lighting by PSLab, hardware by The Nanz Company, stoneware by Arca, and wall paint by Atelier Mériguet-Carrère.
