Ounce House is a minimal residence located in Busan, South Korea, designed by DESIGN5. The goal was to make the typical life of a multi-family house special. The challenge was to harmonize the functions of a cafe, shop, rental, and the owner’s residence into one. The site is located in a planned urban district with a natural form that does not reveal any linkage with other buildings. As a result, the architects choose to create a façade with a somewhat unique asymmetrical mass and concrete pine board exposure to bring out the presence of its form factor without color.
