Restaurant Felini is a minimalist restaurant designed by the Paris-based architectural practice, Alors Studio. Located in the French capital’s ninth arrondissement, the French-Italian restaurant is conceived to remain visually open to the street while fostering a warm, inward-looking atmosphere suited for dining.
Alors Studio’s approach embraced the existing proportions of the site — a narrow linear space with a rectangular floor plan — dividing the area lengthwise, arranging the kitchen and dining areas in parallel with a full height screen made of wood and textured, frosted glass separating the two zones.
A selection of tactile materials plays a key role in shaping the atmosphere: a raw concrete bench, red wood walls and tables, and a subtle forest green concrete floor. Details in the woodwork offer additional visual intrigue, as shifts in their grain direction create rhythmic patterns throughout the interior. In contrast, the kitchen is kept deliberately technical, finished in stainless steel and cream ceramic tiles.
Meanwhile, the expressive materials are softened through furnishings and lighting, with vintage chairs and polished metal accents, including conical pendant lights from the 1970s, which introduce moments of refinement and nostalgia. Together, these elements create a calm and inviting setting, allowing design to quietly frame the convivial rituals of dining.
