Sugary House is a minimalist residence located in Alcamo Marina, Italy, designed by Girolamo Maria Settipani. “White and bright like sugar” is how the buyers of the “Sugary House” have imagined this seaside apartment. From that explicit request, in just 67 square meters of surface it was thought to create micro spaces of conviviality and simplicity into the living room and cosy intimate spaces into the sleeping area. The house, designed for a young couple from the north of Italy, is located in a residential heterogeneous environment which is a few steps away from Alcamo Marina’s beach. The choice of white color and the small size of the house allowed for abundant natural light to ripple off the artificial light wave, thus softening the rigid lines and squared volumes of the walls. The entrance is projected towards an open-space kitchen-living room, that has its space fulcrum in the bio-fireplace located next to the surface of the original concrete pillar.
