Terzetto is a minimalist residence located in London, United Kingdom, designed by ConForm. ConForm’s design centers around a contemporary extension to the rear, inspired by the decorative bay windows and intricate front details typical of Victorian terraced houses in the area. This modern interpretation features a canted bay at the rear, angled to minimize visual impact on adjacent properties while echoing the Victorian streetscape. The extension showcases three distinct materials symbolizing the elements of a bay window: a concrete floor representing the plinth, green terrazzo columns, and a textured, clay-toned plaster for the roof. The design strategically uses these materials to demarcate different areas. Upon entering, the hallway offers a view of the south-facing garden, achieved through a combination of skylights, clerestory windows, and strategic glazing. These elements guide visitors through the property, offering glimpses of the garden and natural light.

The redesign prioritizes garden views and maximizes bedroom space. Innovative solutions like skylights and a clerestory window transform a previously isolated bedroom, providing garden views and ventilation. A hidden pocket door in the living area allows for flexible use of space. The kitchen features light oak cabinetry with a perimeter framing detail, blending functionality with aesthetics. A concrete plinth in the kitchen, hallway, and patio creates a visual connection throughout these areas. In the rear living space, a large trapezoidal skylight introduces light into the kitchen while ensuring privacy. The combination of clay-toned plaster, green terrazzo, and a concrete tiled plinth defines this area. This space also includes a unique art display wall, illuminated by the skylight, and a sunken seating area accentuated by a concrete plinth and bench. ConForm’s attention to detail is evident in the linear precision and material contrasts throughout.
