Torch / Lantern is a minimal flashlight designed by LA-based designer Alex Hans. Interested in the relationship between humans and technology, Alex Hans created this flashlight to explore new paradigms of human technology interaction. When held upright the Lantern emits a soft glow lighting the entire surroundings, when pointed the light organically focuses into a beam. No buttons are needed; the flashlight naturally reacts to human touch. These experiences combine to create a device that feels more organic than manufactured. A leather strap loops through the body serving both the function of a wrist strap as well as a pull tab concealing the USB-C charging port.
