Beijing is a minimal lamp created by Netherlands-based designer Lex Pott. In collaboration with PDM, the designer aimed to reinterpret the traditional altar, typically rooted in conservative design, by creating a modern, minimal version. Using sheet aluminum as the primary material, the design maintains the altar’s function while offering a sophisticated, streamlined aesthetic that appeals to a younger audience with contemporary interiors. This approach bridges the gap between tradition and modernity, allowing the altar to blend seamlessly into minimalist spaces while retaining its cultural significance.
