Hunky Dory is a minimalist light sculpture designed by New York-based studio Objects of Common Interest. Twenty one commercially sourced acrylic led ring lights and a three-step shaped stainless steel structure made from standard profiles comprises a minimalist light sculpture transforming the ready made material itself into the physical subject of the work. The use of everyday material creates a blurring line between a utilitarian and an art object.

The form resembles a totem-like vertical tower in three gradually enlarging clusters of stacked light rings that subsequently generates infinite editions by geometrical and arithmetical variations of its parts. The abstract, architectural language of the arrangement produces a captivating, enthralling rhythm generating strong ambient light that casts directly onto the surrounding space and viewer.
