Souvenir Lamp II is a minimalist lamp created by New York-based studio Kawabi. Kawabi, the design studio led by Irisa and Aaron Na Kawabi, integrates their spiritual interests and diasporic heritage into their work. Their practice focuses on materiality and the unseen as mediums for inner attunement. Their latest creation, the Souvenir Lamp II, is a paper-based table lamp that continues their Souvenir series. This lamp draws inspiration from historical artifacts to create new memories within a modern context. Its architecture symbolizes the transition from the mundane to the sacred, reflecting the ritual of gateways. Crafted from American cherry, kozo paper, rattan, and brass, the Souvenir Lamp II is handmade to order in Kawabi’s New York studio. The lamp’s minimalist design and serene presence make it a captivating addition to any space.
