Straal Lamp is a minimal lamp designed by Milan-based office studioutte. Milan-based designers Guglielmo Giagnotti and Patrizio Gola have combined their expertise to create Studioutte, a design studio committed to producing minimalist yet warm designs with a nod to local aesthetics. One such example is the Straal table lamp, whose name is derived from the Dutch word for “beam.” This sleek and functional lamp is crafted from brushed iron and clear plexiglass, featuring a dimmable 2700K LED light. Giagnotti, who previously worked as an architect at Vincent Van Duysen, completed his studies at the Polytechnic of Bari in 2014. He gained valuable experience at Studio Librizzi in Milan before collaborating with Belgian studios Robbrecht en Daem and Dierendonckblancke on various public competitions in Ghent. After relocating to Antwerp in 2015, Giagnotti honed his skills in luxury interiors and small to medium scale architectural projects during his tenure with Vincent Van Duysen. Patrizio Gola, on the other hand, pursued a career in interior design, studying at the renowned Politecnico di Milano. Gola initially worked at DWA studio in Milan, where he specialized in retail and set-up projects. In 2017, Gola joined Dimorestudio, further broadening his expertise by contributing to large-scale commissions in the hospitality, retail, and residential sectors.
